Release stored emotions by meeting the emotions’ need & break repeating patterns in the nervous system.

Ishtara® Body Alchemy

Let’s go from spiraling in our head about our feelings and reaching for anything to escape feeling hopeless to “Ooo, hello big feeling in my body! What do you need right now so you can be released?” in six weeks.

Are you under the impression that talking or thinking your way to a solution is the answer?

Here’s what you might not know, our patterns are IN our body (our nervous system to be exact), not our brain. No amount of thinking or talking is going to help us drop into our bodies to feel our feelings safely to release them.

Feelings are energy and are meant to be released.

Feelings are not meant to be taken hostage by the brain so our poor heart can agonize over every possibility!

We’re taught that if we just talk it or journal our feelings, we’ll finally break our unhealthy patterns in love, acknowledge our low self-worth, and implement rock-solid boundaries.

But there’s a reason you feel like you go round-and-round the same loops with your therapist and feel like you’re not making progress — our patterns are IN our body (our nervous system to be exact), not our brain.

No amount of thinking or talking is going to help us drop into our bodies to feel our feelings safely to release them. Feelings are energy and are meant to be released. Feelings are not meant to be white knuckled by the brain and taken hostage so our poor heart can agonize over every possibility.

Repeating patterns will limit your power

to create your desires.

The truth is, if you are a life long people pleaser that struggles with moving past the stories your brain tells you and you’ve only tried processing your feelings through verbalizing them, then you might not completely resolve the emotional and psychological impact of your emotions.

Most of us weren’t taught that emotional energy is similar to calories from food. Calories are a measurement of energy from food. If we do not metabolize that energy, it gets stored. Emotions are the same way. Emotion needs to be digested through breath, movement, and sound. Or, like calories, it will be stored in the body.

I get it because I’ve been there too. For as long as I can remember I only tried to process my feelings by reviewing the who, what, where, when, why that possibly led me to those feelings. But the truth is, that’s filtering your emotion through the brain which does not release the emotion… Which is why we stay stuck.

Our society’s tendency to value the brain over the body has created a huge problem.

Many of our treatments for things like depression, anxiety and even trauma are focused on the brain and working with memories stored in the brain.

Meanwhile, our bodies also store memories and if we are only treating the memories stored in the brain we might not get the results we are looking for!

See the cool thing about going the body route to healing emotions is the body doesn’t remember autobiographically like the brain. The body doesn’t connect emotions to a time and place, so you can heal your past in your body. To your body, your past is just a pattern in your nervous system.

This means you can go to your body to release and rewire your past!

The recent shift towards embodiment practices is AWESOME.
And there is still a huge gap if we only use the embodiment practices to release the emotion through music and movement.

The LEAP into breaking lifelong patterns happens when we respond to the emotion with movement and music that meets the need of the feeling or memory being recalled in the body. That attuned somatic response is unique to Ishtara®.

I know how hard it is to be seen in the shame we hold, yet finding a healing modality that allows discretion while being held in the rawness of that emotion in community is one of the most powerful things Ishtara® offers.

Facing the emotion head on with movement and love is going to feel counterintuitive when it is normalized to ignore, reject and suppress emotions, but it is actually the fastest way to release the emotion so it does heal!

It’s when we hide our emotions because we think they are a weakness that we do become weak. We have the choice to step into our power and pave a path to fulfilling out desires when we address our emotions directly!

I know how scary it feels to be with rage.

The memories that left us paralyzed and the deep shame we carry.

I also know we will rise together.

Together breaking patterns as we give ourselves what we needed when those feelings were first seeded in our nervous system.

We set ourselves free by returning to the true power of our body.

I’ve been there.

Raging in anyone’s direction within 6 feet of you because something set you off.

Feeling absolutely frozen in front of your computer while you internally spiral because you have no idea how to start.

Doing ANYTHING else because the thought of starting the thing you really need be doing is just too much to handle right now.

Continuing to go out of your way for everyone else and ignoring anything you might need because you’re afraid if you aren’t always top of mind for them you’ll be forgotten.

Offa… I know that was a lot.

Let’s take a deep breath together–Instead, what if you could connect and identify the emotion coming up in your body and bring that to your Ishtara® practice?

What if, by creating an attuned alchemy with movement and music you create a somatic response that directly meets the need of the emotion?

What if, the response is felt by the body and can bring you back to a rest, calm and connected state?

Wouldn’t that be something…

It is something.

It’s called, Ishtara® Body Alchemy.

When I was young, inner wounds were created when my needs weren’t met.

During events that frightened me I responded by leaving my body and attuning to others to see if I was safe. There were times when outside stressors caused me to shut down in order to shield myself. I learned to abandon myself to be seen as a “good girl” hoping I wouldn’t be rejected. There were also events that led me to take on things that weren’t mine, I was too young to hold and led to me discarding my own needs.

These events created defense patterns that followed me into adulthood. Even though I was successful at starting my career and manifesting what I considered “dream jobs”, I was repeating defenses that limited me or completely held me back from manifesting things I truly desired. Things like cultivating my inner power and understanding my innate worth.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a student of the method.  I brought my own wounds through the method in my three year personal Ishtara practice.  The journey gave me lived experience with the method and wisdom to pass on to you.
